ASSISTIVE DEVICES

In this laboratory we design, modify, and adapt devices that assist people with motor disabilities to do their daily activities with ease. We build quality, low-cost assistive devices. All our designs are built with local materials to support small businesses, and make them more accessible to low-income patients.

NEUROLOGICAL WHEELCHAIRS

Patients with neurological problems might need specialized wheelchairs to help them with correct posture. The correct wheelchair can improve their quality of life and avoid pressure ulcers. Neurological wheelchairs are usually expensive; their personalization and maintenance can be complex. We are working on a low-cost design that can be easily adapted to meet most patients’ needs.
